Black Women Writing 2025
You want to write a book, but…
Showing up to write consistently feels hard. Maybe you’ve been trying to push through, but when you sit to write, you get distracted and struggle to sit for long enough to make real progress with your book.
Every week rushes by and on Sunday evening you find yourself reflecting on how you didn’t do the writing you promised yourself you’d do. Again.
This happens week after week, month after month. But don’t beat yourself up about it, Sis.
Let’s end this cycle together.
Black Women Writing is a virtual co-writing community that’ll help you show up and write 3 days a week for 4 weeks.
You won’t necessarily finish your book in that time, but you’ll build massive amounts of momentum and be in a safe space of other Black women writers all doing our thing….WRITING!
Black Women Writing 2025
Here’s how it works
We’ll be on Google Meet for two hours on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday (You can choose a few or all of the sessions. Stay for the full 2 hours or drop off as needed).
During the calls, we’ll have quick introductions and then we’ll write. We’ll take 2 breaks in the 2 hours.
As a bonus, during the month, I’ll also be sharing some of my favorite journaling prompts that help me sustain my writing practice and sharpen my craft.
Why does this work so well?
Basic psychology tells us we’re more likely to do something when:
>We’ve made a commitment
> Other people are expecting us to be there
>We don’t feel alone in pursuit of our goals
“Alicia, joining your coworking community was one of the best decisions I could have made. I would get so much done on the calls, but that wasn’t even the best part. The best part for me, was not feeling like I’m in this alone. I’m so excited you have started the sessions again. Can’t wait! Also, if I haven’t said thank you enough, here you go: THANK YOU!” -Trynette Lariba. The Curvy Fit RN BSN Curvy Fit Chicks
This is not coaching
These aren’t coaching sessions or accountability. They’re simply times for us to write. It’s about committing to your writing, showing up, and following through so you make massive progress with your book.
We’ll take two breaks during each 2-hour session.
When are the sessions?
You can choose any (or all) of the following. Just show up. Stay for the full 2 hours or drop off as needed.
For March 2025:
Tuesdays: 8:30 am – 10:30 am Eastern Standard Time. (March 4th, 11th, 18th, 25th)
Thursdays: 8:30 am – 10:30 am Eastern Standard Time. (March 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th)
Saturdays: 11:00 am – 1:00 pm Eastern Standard Time. (March 8th, 15th, 22nd, 29th)
Cost
$25 total. I don’t want the cost to stop anyone from joining so I’ve set the price affordably.
What do you get? You can attend every one of the sessions or just a few (of course, you’ll get the most out of this if you come to as many as you can).
Sign up here. You’ll receive a welcome email from me the day after purchase. Then, in mid-January, you’ll get a few email reminders and tips for making the best use of each session.
There are limited seats available
I prefer smaller groups, so there are 20 spots in total. Once they’re gone, they’re gone.
Grab your spot by clicking here.
Start 2025 off right! No more procrastinating.

“Exactly what I needed to stay focused and get more done than I thought possible in one week! I’m very new to blogging, and while this isn’t a class about blogging, I learned so much about the process along with tips and tricks from Alicia and the other members of the group in between our focused writing sessions. We also gave each other encouragement and feedback (all very supportive!) between writing sessions. I was able to get several blog posts done as well as a lot of work on a project that I had put on the back burner. Even though I needed to get up much earlier than usual for 7 mornings in a row to take part due to time zone differences within the group, it was more than worth it! Thank you for an excellent experience!” LJ Heaton
